So well written and true. I will definitely be classed as the re-emerging 😂 what a great term! I’m currently taking a break from trying to fit into the mold of the ‘system’ and honestly not even interested in trying to return to an outdated world that has so many constraints on who are classified as ‘true’ artists and what is ‘true’ art, everyone has an opinion, it doesn’t mean they are right because of where they sit.
I think the only place to return is the practice itself, in whatever form that takes for each of us. You're right about the system and constraints. I feel like we get so conditioned into this 'striving' for a version of success that has been presented to us, or maybe dangled like a carrot. But it is missing the point. For me, continuing to show up for the work and allowing creativity is success as an artist. Would love to see more in our world that supports and values that.
